Archers from Manila team show way

MANILA-BASED Gandiva Archery team secured two gold medals in the ongoing 2016 Philippine National Outdoor Archery Tournament at the San Pedro Calungsod Templete at the South Road Properties (SRP).

Gandiva’s Julia Denise Ongchoco scored 291 points to top the Recurve Cadet girls’ division while Teammate Jonathan Ebbinghans Reaport  had 307 to rule the boys’ category.

A partial medal tally shows that behind Gandiva are Cebu Archery Team and Manila Polo. Both teams have one gold and two silver medals.

Guadalupe Elementary School finished with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Team competitions are slated today.

Other individual winners include Kirk John Jave Bien of Polomolok Archery, who dominated the Recurve Cadet archers with 255 points.

Ma. Ferimi Bajado of Silliman University had 306 points to  top the Recurve Cub girls’ division.

Adrienne Ysabel Parayno of Eastern La Trinidad (304 points) led the Recurve Bowman girls’ while Manila Polo’s Max Gotuaco earned 326 points to lead the Recurve Bowman boys’.

Cebu Archery’s Stephanie Jane Pachico (187 points) was the Yeoman girls’ champion as she was the lone archer in the event.

Herrah Bless Gato topped the Recurve PVC girls’ division with 22 points while Guadalupe Elementary School’s August Jay Maban (254 points) hauled in a gold medal in Recurve PVC boys’ competition.
