Three persons died and another was injured in separate road accidents in Cebu last Friday.
The first accident, which happened at 9 a.m., claimed the life of Laura Jane Cerna, 26, single, and a resident Barangay Sangi, Toledo City.
PO1 Reynaldo Cuntado of Balamban police station said that Cerna was riding a motorcycle driven by her live-in partner Mac Lowen Magallon, also of Toledo City, on their way to Cebu City when Magallon hit a dog that crossed the road along Transcentral Highway in Barangay Cansamuroy, Balamban.
Both Cerna and Magallon were thrown off the motorcycle.
Both were not wearing helmets, but only Cerna died after hitting her head on the pavement. The dog also died.
Residents immediately brought the victims to Balamban district hospital, but Cerna was pronounced dead on arrival.
In Oslob town, southern Cebu, a boatman for local and foreign tourists who wanted to see whale shark or butanding in Barangay Tan-awan was also killed in a crash at 4 p.m.
Police identified the victim as Gito Otida, 39, married, of Barangay Punong Samboan.
PO2 Noel Mamali of Oslob Police Station, said Otida was driving his motorcycle very fast on his way to Samboan when he lost control while maneuvering a curved road along Barangay Calumpang, still in Oslob. Otida fell into a concrete canal that eventually led to his death.
The third accident which involved a teenager happened around 11 p.m. in Borbon town, northern Cebu.
