THE Mandaue City government is tightening security at the Mandaue City Hall with 35 new security cameras placed along its hallways and premises.

Kister Cosedo, Management Information System Office (MISO) head, said in a recent interview that the P3.9-million “Integrated intrusion hold up system, fire alarm and CCTV cameras” are 95 percent complete.

Cosedo said the project aims to prevent many theft incidents inside and within the premises of City Hall.

He said this will also bolster the security at the City Treasurer’s Office which is a vulnerable spot for thieves because the city government’s money is there.

Aside from security cameras, the project also included alarm systems and a system that will send messages to the concerned departments.

He said when the fire alarm is activated, the system will send messages to the fire stations, city hospitals, police stations and even the mayor.
