Game today
Legazpi City
5 p.m.- San Miguel Beer vs. Meralco
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters put an end to an alarming three-game slide with a dominant 121-94 win over the NLEX Road Warriors yesterday in the 41st PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
“We got our rhythm back. I hope it’s not too late,” said Rain or Sine coach Yeng Guiao. “I hope we can be consistent with it. We got our running game back, we got our passing game back, we also got our rebounding game back but we’re still behind in the standings.”
Coming off a 26-point to Alaska, Rain or Shine showed better ball movement and came up with 33 assists.
“At least coming into this game, our simple objective was just to break the losing streak. Just win one and then we can talk about the next. We achieved our objective,” Guiao added.
Rain or Shine took full control of the game after racing to a 23-8 lead. The lead ballooned to as much as 29 as the Elasto Painters easily picked up their second win in five games.
Antoine Wright paced the Elasto Painters with 20 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals.
Wright also played solid defense on NLEX import Al Thornton who scored just 19 points after averaging 35.3 points per game going into the contest.
The Road Warriors suffered a second straight loss to drop to 2-3 (win-loss).
Meanwhile, the Meralco Bolts try to protect their unbeaten record when they face the San Miguel Beermen today in Legazpi City.
Meralco leads the standings with a 5-0 slate.
San Miguel sports a 2-1 record and has won its last two games.
