Tepora ready for Tinampay

There wasn’t much fireworks when Jhack Tepora and Jason Tinampay crossed paths yesterday.

The two boxers insisted  their individual performance inside the ring will speak for  them when they fight for the WBO Asia-Pacific Youth super-bantamweight title in the inaugural edition of the “Who’s Next?” Pro Boxing Series slated tomorrow at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu Atrium.

“I know he is unbeaten but I’ve prepared hard for this fight. I’ll do everything to win the fight,” said Tinampay in a press conference yesterday at the above-mentioned venue.

“I won’t be promising a knockout win but I’ll be there to get an impressive win. I’m unbeaten but that doesn’t mean I’m the better boxer. He has a good record and he’s a good boxer. I’ll just do my best,” said Tepora.

Tepora has yet to lose in 16 fights and 11 of those victories came via stoppage.

Tinampay, known to be hard-nosed fighter, has won seven of his nine fights and and is fresh from a technical knockout (TKO) victory over Marjhun Tabamo last Jan. 28 in Getafe, Bohol.

The six-fight card is free of charge, announced Chad Cañares, vice president of Omega Pro Sports International.

The event is supported by Hyundai Tucson, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, Harley-Davidson Cebu, Omega Pro Pain Killer and Y1O1.

It will be the first time in Cebu that a boxing event will be held inside a mall.

“We’re glad to make history. We want to be a part of the boxers’ life by giving them an avenue to further flourish,” said Joanna Salazar, Marketing Senior Manager of Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
