Minglanilla cops nab two men, seize shabu worth at least P800K

MORE than P800,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated and two men were arrested in a span of six hours in separate buy-bust operations in Minglanilla town, southern Cebu in the early evening of Saturday and early morning of Sunday.

The biggest catch for the Minglanilla police was the estimated 50 grams of suspected shabu  confiscated from suspect Felix Saligo Mas at past 6 p.m. Saturday.

Chief Insp. Franco Oriol, Minglanilla police chief, said the drugs were estimated to be worth P506,000.

Mas was arrested when he handed over a pack of shabu to an undercover policeman outside his house in Barangay Tunghaan.

A .38 caliber revolver with four bullets, and P700 cash were also recovered from Mas.

About six hours later at past 1 a.m. on Sunday, in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla police arrested Marlix Melgar Cabaluna during another buy-bust operation.

Seized from Cabaluna were 26 grams of illegal drugs estimated by Oriol to be at least P306,800 and P480 cash believed to proceeds of his illegal trade.

Oriol said that both men are considered level three drug pushers in their list of drug personalities.

He said that both suspects can sell from 50 grams to 200 grams of shabu in a week.
