A 73-YEAR-OLD widow was found hanging dead in her home in Barangay Poblacion, Barili town, southwest Cebu.
Constacia Dabon was found by her daughter suspended from the ceiling with a nylon rope tied around her neck, said PO2 Gilbert Encabo of the Barili Police Station.
Police said the woman may have committed suicide after she was accused of theft.
Police said the woman was accused of cutting a banana and brought its fruit to her home.
Because of embarrassment caused by the accusation, the woman refused to go out her house until she was found dead, police said.
The body was already untied when police arrived in the victim’s house.
