A PREGNANT employee lost consciousness while the others were ordered to evacuate the Lexmark Plaza 1 building at the Cebu Business Park after thick smoke swept through its upper floors Thursday morning.
SFO 3 Daniel Relatado said they had to break glass windows on the building’s 22nd floor to clear it of smoke.
The employees helped their pregnant employee who was revived minutes after.
Relatado said the smoke alarm started when an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) connected to one of the computer units on the building’s 22nd floor started to overheat at 9:13 a.m.
Smoke reached the building’s 23rd floor.
Responding fire firefighters sprayed water on the building’s 22nd floor causing damage in the area and on its 21st and 20th floors.
