ALTHOUGH its swimmers slowed down, Team Cebu City got some gold medals from other sporting events in the Philippine National Games in Pangasinan yesterday.
Swimming produced only a silver and four bronze medals in the last day of the event but dancesports and badminton made up for the shutout in the pool.
Dancesports Team Cebu City (DTCC) harvested six golds, one silver, and two bronze medals inside the Sison Auditorium.
Their medalists were Jam Flores, Bert Kevin Diluvio, Jeffrey Benarao and Therese Andre Quilaton in Latin Grade B. Andrew Ysla and Noelyn Pedrano topped the
Youth A Latin while Romeo Cialbo and Mae Paubaya gracefully dominated the Standard Grade C category. John Paul Mocorro and Mary Joy Dumosmog also hauled the gold in the Latin D and C categories.
In badminton, the duo of Fritz Sagaad and Jhunaa Francisco took home the gold medal in the Junior Mixed Doubles category after defeating their rivals from host Pangasinan, 21-19, 21-10.
With the win, the Niños grabbed their first gold in the badminton event. They also stacked two bronzes in yesterday and last Wednesday’s matches.
The Niños finished with five golds, nine silvers and nine bronze medals in three days of swimming competition.
