A BURGLAR hit the Department of Education (DepEd) Mandaue City Division office last Saturday and fled with cash, jewelry and gadgets estimated to be worth P40,000.
Francis Salinas, DepEd Mandaue’s human resource officer, discovered the burglary at 2 p.m. that day and reported it to police.
Police said the burglar destroyed the door knob to gain entry to the offices. The stolen items included four silver necklaces worth P4,000; a gold ring worth P1,000; two pairs of jade earrings worth P1,000; and assorted fashion jewelry worth P3,000; P11,500 cash, and a hard disk drive worth P4,500.
The stolen items and cash belonged to education officials including education supervisor Rosario Casilagan and School Governance and Operational Division chairperson Adeline Luarez.
Police were still investigating the incident.
