FOR the past several years, women have been regarded as lowly compared to their gender counterpart. But women have proven time and again that they are more than what they are averred to be.
They are now standing up from their inequitable condition and igniting change in society.
In its eighth year of upholding women advocacies, Miss UP Cebu returns with a whole new level of pageantry. With this year’s theme, “Rise from the ashes, Ignite the flame”, the beauty pageant aims to bring women back to their roots of power, beauty and intelligence beyond measure, description and time.
Brought by Alitaptap Productions, Communicators of UP and the Miss UP Organization, in partnership with ChannelFix.com, Robinsons Galleria and MyTV, this annual competition of grace and intelligence does not only showcase the beauty and talent of the students of the University of the Philippines Cebu but also serves as an avenue for social initiative and involvement. This pageant has produced strong and accomplished Cebuanas such as last year’s Miss Cebu Wynonah Van Joy Buot and last year’s Sinulog Festival Queen Julienne Hazel Penserga.
The pre-pageant night will be on April 4 at the UP Cebu Performing Arts Hall with free entrance. Coronation Night will be on April 7 at The Atrium, Robinsons Galleria Cebu. Grab tickets for P100 at tinyurl.com/msupcoronation and visit www.facebook.com/MsUPCebu for more details.
