Law schools deans from the Visayas and Mindanao failed to reach the required number of examinees for the Bar Exams to be held in Cebu.
Of the target 1,000 would-be Bar Exam takers, only 515 law graduates agreed to support the campaign for the Bar Exams to be held in Cebu, said former Associate Justice Portia Hormachuelos, dean of the University of the Visayas’ College of Law.
Hormachuelos said Supreme Court Associate Justice Prebitero Velaso, chairperson of the 2016 Bar Exams, has not turned down the request to hold the Bar Exams in Cebu.
“Our aspirations are not yet dead. Justice Velaso said options are still open,” Hormachuelos said.
