Weather specialist Manny John Agbay said Cebu registered 33.9 degrees Celsius in temperature. He said the cause of the high heat index is the increase in relative humidity which reached 65 percent.
He said it is possible that the temperature will rise in the coming days due to the El Nino dry spell.
Last Wednesday Pagasa recorded a temperature of 34.9 degrees Celsius and a heat index of 41 degrees Celsius.
The heat index or human discomfort index is the actual temperature felt by the body based on air temperature, humidity and the surrounding environment.
