A barangay councilman shot and wounded a 36-year-old man in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City last Sunday evening.
Barangay Tangke councilman Romeo Santillan Jr. shot Bon Lister Daan, who was then standing in an alley in Sitio Kilawan, twice in the body.
Santillan fled after the shooting while Daan was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
SPO1 Cecilio Mendoza said they were still looking into the motive of the shooting as Santillan remains at large.
Mendoza said Santillan may face a frustrated murder charge in the shooting.
However, he said that they were further investigating the shooting incident.
Perla Cabanes, a fellow Barangay Tangke councilman, called on Santillan to cooperate with authorities.
Santillan is serving as his last term as barangay councilman.
