JOSEPHUS Rusiana scored 25 points to lead the Lions to an 87-79 win over the Stallions in the 5th season of the Cebu Elite Basketball Club–Sinulog Cup last Sunday night at the Visayas Glass Gym in Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Rusiana, who also took home the Finals MVP honors, was backed up by versatile big man Jhonnel Escober and Reggie Abbu with 18 points apiece.
Clint Caritan chipped in 12 markers.
The game marked the end of a productive season for the Elite Club, wherein it was able to reach out to Iloilo City and establish an expansion club there.
“It was unexpected,” Elite Club commissioner Bertoni Salazar said. “We didn’t expect to make an expansion in Iloilo.”
The Elite Club’s sixth season will start in May.
