Cops to invite slain enforcer’s uncle to shed light on his nephew’s killing

CEBU City Police will invite an uncle of the Cebu City traffic enforcer who was killed last Saturday night for questioning.

PO3 Alberto Diamante said they would get the uncle’s side on the killing of 40-year-old Michael Garces.

Maria Riza Garces, wife of the victim, earlier told Cebu Daily News that the traffic enforcer had a misunderstanding with his uncle over a piece of iron grill last week where the uncle allegedly challenged the victim to a fistfight.

Witnesses earlier told police that the uncle was allegedly seen around the area where the victim was shot a few hours before the incident.

Diamante said they were also trying to identify the two gunmen in the killing of Garces.

Garces was shot and killed near his house in Barangay Sambag II as he headed to fetch his wife visiting a friend in Barangay Duljo Fatima.
