PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III will be in Cebu today to attend a Liberal Party (LP) campaign sortie in Argao town, south Cebu.
In a press briefing yesterday, Fayette Riñen of the Philippine Information Agency-7 said Mr. Aquino will arrive at the Secretary Cerge Remonde Sports and Cultural Center in Argao at 3 p.m. and will only stay for an hour.
“That’s the only event the president will attend. After that, he’ll immediately leave Cebu,” Riñen said.
She said Aquino will be accompanied by Interior Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento and Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson.
Also expected to attend the political rally are Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III; Aika Robredo, the daughter of LP vice presidential candidate Leni
Robredo; and Paulo Roxas, the son of LP presidential bet Mar Roxas III.
Riñen said Aquino is expected to deliver a message during the event. No media interviews will be allowed.
