“SILENT no more.”

A bunch of Liberal Party (LP) supporters who are part of a Facebook group called the “Silent Majority” converged at the Ayala Center Cebu yesterday to make their presence known to mall goers.

In what was to be the beginning of more public displays of affection for administration party bets  Mar Roxas and Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo,  around 40 people congregated at 5 p.m. in the uptown mall, just walking around like regular shoppers but wearing the LP official color, yellow.

There was no lightning rally nor loud speeches, but the group now goes by the name, “Cebu for Roxas and Robredo Silent No More Movement.”

“The other party has been very noisy and annoying. Personally, I just couldn’t make myself just sit and look and listen to them. Bad things happen to a country or to anybody because we (people) decide to keep quiet . . .   If at the end of the day, whoever wins, at least I make myself and my voice heard,” said Zita Abellanosa, coordinator for the event in an interview with CEBU DAILY NEWS.

Abellanosa said that the small group of supporters that she organized for the mall activity was composed of professionals under the working class who have chosen to finally come out in the open with their support for the LP tandem.

Before splitting into smaller groups to go around the mall like normal shoppers,  the LP supporters had a group photo taken at around 5:30 p.m. to encourage more supporters in their Facebook page to follow suit in the coming days.

The “Silent Majority” Facebook page lists 139,702 members as of 9 o’clock last night.
