Youth group presents proposals to Davide, Magpale

THE improvement of hospitals in different provincial government-owned and operated hospitals to decongest Vicente Sotto Medical Memorial Center (VSMMC), health care programs in the province and Youth Farm Project for livelihood program are among the issues and proposals that a youth group presented to Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale to address should they be reelected into office for another term.

Dasig, a civic youth group that encourages youth and young professional’s participation in nation-building, presented several proposals to address the concerns of the youth in education, environment, healthcare, livelihood and traffic.

On hospitals and healthcare programs in the province, Magpale said the administration has worked hard for the improvement of the facility including the hiring of 39 specialists presently employed there.

She said Balamban’s provincial government hospital has an orthopaedic surgeon and has the capability to conduct caesarian section.

“Please bear with us. It has not been easy for us,” she said.

Davide said that they may include the proposed Youth Farm Project in the Farmer Scientist Training Program (FSTP).

Engineer Raymund Sesican, the president of Dasig, said Dasig, which is the Cebuano word for “encourage,” was established on Sep. 8, 2015 by former student leaders.
