Concentrix to open in Cebu

CONCENTRIX will open at The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City in the second half of this year.

The US-based company, which has operations in Metro Manila and Mindanao, would be the fourth business process outsourcing (BPO) company to locate at the 30-hectare township being developed by Megaworld Corp. in Mactan.

Jericho Go, Megaworld senior vice president, said 450 to 500 workers will be hired by the end of this year.

Concentrix will initially occupy the entire second floor, around 2,600 square meters of office space, of Tower 3 of 8 Newtown Boulevard, Go said.

Other BPOs that have set up operations at The Mactan Newtown are The Results Companies, Enfra USA and Manulife.

In a press conference yesterday, Go said Megaworld remained committed to help provide jobs for Lapu-Lapu City residents.

“We’re adding more quality clients, blue chip accounts so that they have more to choose from,” Go said.

He said one out of four BPO workers in Cebu City are Lapu-Lapu resident. With more BPOs locating in Mactan, Go said Lapu-Lapu residents would no longer have to travel two to three hours a day to go to work in the mainland.

Go said they planned to develop five to 10 more office buildings by 2021.

Concentrix has been operating in the country since 2007.

David Brooks, Philippine country leader of Concentrix, said the proximity of Mactan Newtown to the Mactan Cebu International Airport would be a huge advantage.

The Mactan Newtown is the first and only township with its own beach front, formerly known as Portofino Resort, Go said.
