THE Cebu City government will offer free services and consultations tomorrow at the Plaza Independencia from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in celebration of Labor Day.
Dubbed as “Sugbonanza 2016: the City of Services,” the different departments of the Cebu City Hall will offer their respective services to the public for free.
These include the City Treasurer’s Office, Internal Audit Office, City Assessor’s Office, City Budget Office, City Accounting Office, General Services Office, Department of Social Welfare Services, Office on Substance Abuse Prevention, Mayor’s Office, City Administrator’s Office, Human Resource Development Office, Department of Manpower Development and Placement, City Health, Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC), Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries, Legal Office, Sangguniang Panglungsod, Civil Registrar, Planning and Development Office, Engineering and Public Works, Office of the Building Official, Public Information Office, Tourism Office, Management Information and Computer Services, Agriculture Department, Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor and Environment and Natural Resources Office. The Cebu City Transportation Office (formerly Citom) and Cebu City Police Office will also participate to ensure peace and order during the event, while the Cebu City Fire Department and Cebu City Disaster and Risk Response and Management Office will be on standby for emergency response.
“This is our city government employees’ way of saying yes to deliver services on Labor Day,” said CCMC administrator, Rey Chris Panugaling.
Sugbonanza 2016 highlights the programs that the city can offer such as awareness on disaster preparedness; raising of the knowledge of the people on financial administration; prioritizing the protection of society especially the women, children and people with disabilities; promoting peace and order and strengthening the fight against lawless elements of the city; implementing environmental management programs; promoting a business friendly atmosphere and integrity in public service.
Role-playing and exhibits will be showcased during the event that aims to inform the public on easy access to government services.
