Two lawyers caught in scandal post bail

THE two lawyers who figured in a relationship scandal posted bail over the weekend.

But only the lawyer who was accused by his wife of concubinage and violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 slept overnight in jail.

The female lawyer posted bail late Friday afternoon, said Chief Insp. Wildemar Tiu, chief of the Mabolo police precinct.

The male lawyer was unable to post bail immediately, so he was brought back to the Mabolo police precinct and slept for one night until yesterday noon.

Tiu said the alleged lover posted P20,000 bail for the two charges while the male lawyer posted P30,000 bail.

The two lawyers were caught by the wife staying in a pension house in barangay Mabolo last Friday dawn.

Regional Trial Court Branch 18 Judge Gilbert Moises issued the release order, Tiu said.

Tiu said the lawyer had no complaints when he stayed overnight in jail.
