CETBA holds free bowling clinic in SM Cebu

AS PART of its advocacy to strengthen the grassroots development of bowling, the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) is currently holding a free bowling clinic for kids ages seven and above at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.

Docdoc Gothong, CETBA’s vice president and tournament director told CDN that this is the first time that their group is holding a free clinic for kids after noticing that there are fewer kids interested in the sport. It is also their way of discovering new bowling talents.

“We just want to share to the kids what bowling is all about, how it is played and discover potential talents. We decided to make it free as our way of giving back to the community,” said Gothong.

Gothong clarified that clinic participants will only pay for the lanes. He also bared that the clinic is year-round and not only held during summer to assure continuity.

CETBA’s youth committee officer Joe Chu is handling the clinic with coaches Brian Sy, John Vincent Galindo, Jericho Jumapao and Joseph Yu.

Some 16 kids are enrolled in the clinic which started early last month. Gothong added that they are targeting at least 30 participants. The clinic is held every Friday at 6 p.m. and every Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

They are also willing to accept kids who want to become members of CETBA or those who want to join their tournaments.
