THE Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) will have at least 100 more beds with the expected completion of the new four-story Sotto hospital Cebu City North District building.
Dr. Gerardo Aquino, VSMMC medical chief, said he expects 120 to 130 beds for the new hospital building whose construction started last July 13, 2015 and inauguration scheduled on July 1, 2016.
Dr. Aquino cited the House bill of Rep. Raul del Mar (Cebu City North district), which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III to increase the hospital’s bed capacity from 800 to 1,200.
Del Mar, who inspected the project yesterday with Dr. Aquino, said that the building project’s cost is P84.5 million.
Meanwhile, the hospital also blessed the newly renovated Renal Center, which has 10 more hemodialysis machines.
Dr. Aquino said yesterday that the Renal Center has already a total of 30 hemodialysis machines.
The Renal Center, formerly known as Peritoneal Dialysis Unit (PDU), was established in 1994.
In 2007, it was developed into a two-story building.
