Stalled motorbanca with 22 passengers towed to Liloan

More than 20 people were saved from spending the night at sea on their stalled motorbanca off the waters Caubian Island in Lapu-Lapu City late Saturday  afternoon.

Cebu Coast Guard Commander Agapito Bibat said a passing motorbanca helped tow the stalled motorbanca with 22 passengers to Liloan town at 6:40 p.m.

Bibat said the passengers who are still unidentified may have come from an island hopping activity when their vessel started to malfunction about 5:30 p.m.

He also said that he had sent a Coast Guard vessel to Liloan town verify the incident and assist the passengers of the stalled banca.
