PROTAGONISTS in the upcoming sixth season of the Cebu Elite Basketball Club get a chance to sharpen their arsenal as the tournament’s pre-season games unfurl today at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Five games will be played today starting at 5 p.m.

The Yasser Magdara-led Eagles take on the Seahawks of Joirene Salcedo in the first game, while Neil Buot and the Panthers tangle with the George Ralloma and Max Steinbach-powered Jaguars in the second game.

The third game will have the Sharks of Elite Club commissioner Bertoni Salazar go up against the Wolves.

The defending champions Lions test the mettle of the Falcons, who will be led by big man Jhonnel Escober and shooter Malvin Malicdem.

In the final game, last season’s first runner-up Stallions parade a new-look lineup against the Rams.

The tournament’s brand-new season dubbed as Summer Cup will start on May 15.

This year’s season will feature three conferences.

An expansion club in Iloilo City is set to start its inaugural season late this month.

The Iloilo Elite Basketball Club has attracted 50 members who will make up for the four competing teams.

The Iloilo expansion club was a product of the group’s successful fifth season that ended last month.
