Duterte camp calls on voters to report problems, harassment to police

THE camp of Davao City Mayor and presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte encouraged voters who encountered problems and experienced harassment during the election to file a complaint to the police instead of posting it on social media.

Pete Laviña, Duterte’s spokesperson said in a phone interview Monday morning that voters should provide evidence to back up their complaint.

“All we have to do is report all these incidents and have it recorded by the police.  It’s not enough for us to post it on Facebook,” he said.

Laviña said the elections are so far “generally okay” although common election problems are still encountered like vote-buying, campaigning and defects in vote-counting machines as well as late poll watchers.

The Davao City mayor is scheduled to vote at 2-3 pm today. His runningmate Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, voted at 8 a.m today. His daughter Sara voted in Davao City at 10:30 a.m.
