A number of Liberal Party (LP) candidates in Cebu province are heading for reelection in the canvassing but Cebu voters went for opposition presidential bet Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, garnering more than half of the 1.3 million votes so far counted.
But for their vice president, Cebuanos gave the most number of votes to LP’s Leni Robredo.
As of 12 noon Tuesday, Duterte pulled in 681,593 votes based on official results from 45 of 51 towns and cities in Cebu province.
Far second is LP’s standard bearer, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, with 399,405.
Roxas is followed by Senator Grace Poe who received 158,315 votes, Vice President Jejomar Binay (58,681), and Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago (17,562).
Roxas’ running mate, Leni Robredo, was ahead of the other candidates in the vice presidential race, with 511,492 votes.
Duterte’s runningmate, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, was the second choice with 401,599 votes.
Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. got 167,252 votes followed by Senator Chiz Escudero (121,320), Senator Antonio Trillanes IV (21,209), and Gringo Honasan (19,267).
