Apura wins reelection in Carcar City

Carcar City Mayor Nicepuro Apura won his second re-election bid against his challenger, outgoing Provincial Board Member Raul Alcoseba.

Apura of the Nacionalist Party (NP) was proclaimed winner Tuesday morning with 33,372 as against the Liberal Party’s Alcoseba who got 19,991 votes or a margin of 13,381 votes.

Apura’s runningmate and re-electionist Vice Mayor Patrick Barcenas also got a fresh mandate from Carcar City residents with 12,289 winning margin against Badong Aleonar of LP.

Barcenas garnered 31,905 votes while Aleonar got 19,616 votes. NP candidates also dominated the city’s council slate. Nine NP candidates won in the election with one, Edgar Oca, from LP.

Winning councilors are Mercy Apura (33,979), Bebe Barcenas (32,249), Perkins De Dios (28,284), Ian Bhokyol Del Rosario (28,206), Roger Montesclaros (27,535), Gerry Sandoy (26,831), Jay Garcia (26,516), Elvi Sandoy (25,955), and Jun Camingao (25,744).

Velez, who won the 10th seat in the city council, gathered 24, 898 votes. In San Fernando town, former mayor Lakambini Reluya succeeded in her political comeback defeated Miguel Antonio Canoy, son of incumbent mayor Abe Canoy , who sought election under the Nationalist Peoples Coalition (NPC).

She received 19,358 votes against Canoy’s 16,082 votes. But Reluya’s runningmate Reliso Enad lost to NPC’s BB Sabalones. Sabalones received 21,327 votes Enad’s 5,727 votes.
