Land Bank of the Philippines cash cards containing the honorarium for each teacher who served during the May 9 elections are ready for distribution, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.

Acting Cebu provincial election supervisor said a total of 12,198 cash cards were delivered to his office on May 8.

“We are ready for distribution. We are just waiting for their enrollment forms before we can release the cards to local election officers,” Labaria told reporters.

Without an accomplished form, the provincial Comelec office will not release the cards.

The chairman and two members of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) from 4,066 clustered polling precincts in the province will each receive a card. They can then withdraw their honorarium from any Landbank automated teller machine (ATM).

Each BEI member is entitled to a total compensation of P6,500 for serving in last Monday’s elections.

Under Comelec Resolution No. 10031, BEI members will get a per diem of P1,000 for three days plus additional P500 each for the verification and sealing of the Book of Voters, final testing and sealing of vote-counting machines, and transportation allowance.

A P2,000 increase was approved in late January, bringing their total compensation for election duties to P6,500.
