The Court of Appeals has allowed SPO1 Adonis Dumpit to post bail pending resolution of his appeal.
Dumpit, a decorated Cebu City policeman and a known close aide of then mayor Tomas Osmeña, was earlier convicted of homicide for shooting a suspected 17-year old robber in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City in 2004.

Osmeña, who has been elected mayor in the just concluded May 9 polls, announced on his Facebook account Friday evening about Dumpit’s impending release and uploaded document issued from Court of Appeals.
“Happy birthday Adonis Dumpit! I have a really nice present for you,” Osmeña on his Facebook post.
