CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama gave a PowerPoint presentation to show to supporters why he questioned Cebu City Mayor-elect Tomas Osmeña’s victory in last Monday’s elections.
The PowerPoint presentation held during last Friday evening’s rally in front of Cebu City Hall’s legislative building included a list of the barangays headed by officials he claimed had supported his candidacy.
“Kami ang nakadaug nga napildi. Siya (Osmeña) napildi nga nakadaug (I am the winner that lost. He is the loser that won),” Rama said as he confirmed plans to procure 200,000 signatures to support his election protest.
The mayor also denied allegations that he used the distribution of financial assistance to senior citizens to gather signatures for his election protest.
Last Friday, the senior citizens of Cebu City received P1,000 cash assistance from city government for the month of May.
“Wa koy labot ana (signature campaign). I did not have any instructions. You know how emotions can affect people and specially senior citizens. I did not tell them to do that,” he said.
