THE ENGINEERS rallied from a 15-point deficit to take down the Architects, 77-73, in the All Star Game of the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association Davies Paints Cup on Saturday at the University of San Carlos Gym.

The Engineers stared at a 42-57 deficit at the end of the third canto after the Architects outscored them, 21-9, during that stretch. However, all was not lost for the Engineers as they leaned on the combined efforts of Ed Macasling, Malvin Malicdem and former Southwestern University guard Joseph

Escober who was eventually named the game’s MVP to overhaul the deficit and help their squad come out on top.

Malicdem finished the game with 14 points, Escober added 11 points, five rebounds and five assists while Macasling finished with 12 points and three dimes.

The undermanned Architects fought bravely behind the combination of Justine Aspacio who had 28 and league MVP Ayi Armenion who tallied 18.

Meanwhile, Macasling swept the special events of the festivities. The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu product won both the free-throw shooting contest and the three-point shootout in what was a display of impressive perimeter accuracy by the crafty guard.
