Boljoon medical mission serves 500 residents

Around 500 patients composed mostly of senior citizens, mothers and children received free medical services at the El Pardo Elementary School in Boljoon town, southern Cebu last Friday.

The Brgy. El Pardo is the first medical mission implemented by the Cebu Provincial Government after the local elections.

The first medical and dental mission implemented by the Cebu Provincial government after the local elections served Barangay El Pardo and its neighboring barangays of Baclayan and Nangka.

Services included medical consultations, dental extraction, circumcision, haircut for children, cholesterol and glucose test distribution of medicines and feeding program.

Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale stressed that the provincial government continues to prioritize health services and programs as mandated by Gov. Hilario P. Davide III.

“Ang kini nga programa magpadayon sa pagsilbi sa mga katawhan sa Sugbo. Ug dili lang mi mo-concentrate sa kalungsuran, kun dili adto gyud mi sa mga barangay, hilabi na sa mga bukirang barangay (This program continues to serve the Cebu constituents. Our service is not only limited to the towns, but also to barangays, especially mountain barangays,” Magpale said.

Newly elected Boljoon officials like Mayor Merlou Derama, Vice Mayor Ervin Villanueva, councilors Genus Navarro and Cedric Batoctoy and Provincial Board Member Tata Salvador were also present during the activity.
