THE PANTHERS displayed their dominant savvy as they posted a 74-64 win over the defending champions Lions in the sixth season of the Cebu Elite Basketball Club last Sunday at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe, Cebu City.
The Lions, who won the Season 5 Sinulog Cup last month, dropped to 1-1 (win-loss) in the standings. They scored a 74-52 rout over the Rams in their opening game last Friday.
Mark Penerio carried the Panthers with a 20-point performance while the Lions were led by Josephus Rusiana, who scored 25 markers.
In the second game, Armando de Jesus drained 21 points to lift the Rams to 63-51 victory over the Stallions.
The Sharks, meanwhile, won their opening game against the Wolves, 67-61.
Arbey Baculi led the Sharks with 18 points.
