UNBEATEN Filipino boxer Harmonito Dela Torre guns for a resounding victory in his first fight in the United States as he takes on Guillermo Sanchez in a non-title fight today at the at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino in Niagara Falls, New York.

“I’m confident that Harmonito will put on a great show for American boxing fans,” said Jim Claude Manangquil, who manages Dela Torre along with Adam Wilcock and Greg Cohen Promotions. “We’re hoping that his first fight in the US will be the start of something special,” added Manangquil.

In yesterday’s weigh-in, tipped the scales at 131 pounds, while Sanchez weighed 126 for the eight-round junior lightweight encounter.

Dela Torre, who hails from General Santos City, is a 22-year-old fighter who has strung up 17 straight wins with 12 knockout victories.

The hard-punching has enjoyed international exposure after fighting in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios fight in Macau in 2013.
Sanchez, 15-18-1, is considered to be Dela Torre’s most experienced opponent to date.

A native of Buffalo, New York, the southpaw Sanchez was unbeaten in his first 12 fights and has faced some of the best prospects in recent years.

The card will have world-rated heavyweight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller facing Nick Guivas in the 10-round main event.
