The abandoned premature baby that was found in Barangay Maya, Daanbantayan last week remains at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center due to his undeveloped lungs.
Heidie Aplece, Municipal Social Welfare Development Officer in Daanbantayan, said that the baby receives a single dose vial (Survanta beractant) to support his lungs.
Aplece said a vial of the medicine is worth P23,000.
She said their municipal government, the province, and regional offices are coordinating for the baby’s expenses which she claims to be still manageable.
The baby was found at the back of a house on May 25 in Barangay Maya.
