PROVINCIAL Capitol employees and volunteers gathered more than 1,100 kilos of waste during the coastal cleanup activity in Barangy Pooc, Talisay City last May 25.

The waste collected was mostly plastic products, according to the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.

Talisay Councilor Antonio Bacaltos Jr., chairman of the committee on environment, urged the residents to work together in keeping their place clean and not just rely on volunteers to clean their place.

“Hinaut nga magmatngon mo sa atong kalikupan. Kamao kita nga motan-aw unsay angay nga buhaton (I hope that you will take care of our environment. We know what to do). Let us be responsible,” Bacaltos added.

Fishermen from other barangays and organizations also joined the cleanup.
