BALLETCENTER’S Spectacular 2016 titled “Classical Breeze and a Jazzy Twist” will be presented on June 10 and 11 at 6 p.m. at Onstage Cinema 1 of Ayala Center Cebu.

Balletcenter’s co-artistic directors Gregory Aaron and Nicolas Pacaña have devised a well-coordinated program. Act I will be the children’s recital: Nursery-Kinder, Ballet 1, Ballet 2 and Ballet 3 with ballet and jazzy pieces for each class.

Junior solos will be performed by Veia Lampert, Ella-Kate Gindrat, Alexandra Bacalla, Liliana Sitoy, Alliyah Gabutan, Angelo Misperos, Natasha Condolor, Takira McCabe and Hannah Jao.

Act 2 will open with Nicolas Pacaña’s Paganini. A neoclassical riveting piece, it closed the 1994 Southeastern Regional Ballet Association of the United States Dance Festival.

This will be followed by excerpts from the classics like the Sugar Plum Fairy Pas de Deux from “The Nutcracker” – Tzarina Catipay and Eddie Carl Garcia; the White Swan Pas de Deux from “Swan Lake” – Mae Rocamora and Joseph Ian Rocamora; Black Swan Pas de Deux from “Swan Lake” – Rollaine Nuez and Mhynard Etis; “Coppelia” Pas de Deux – Jamayma Aragon and Clinton Dignos; “Le Corsaire” Pas de Deux – Bernadette Sinues and Clinton Dignos; and the Peasant Pas de Deux from “Giselle” – Cecile Nolasco and Khynloyd Genson.

The Rose Adagio from the “Sleeping Beauty” will be danced by Judith Po, Clinton Dignos, Khynloyd Genson, Joseph Ian Rocamora and Eddie Carl Garcia.

The Snow scene from”The Nutcracker” will round off the program with Cheron Co as Clara and Eddie Carl Garcia as the Nutcracker Prince. Alternating as the Snow Queen will be Jillian Vestil and Melga Beuken.

Group dances during the program include the Waltz of the Flowers from “The Nutcracker”; the opening dance The Kingdom of the Shades from “La Bayadere”; the Prologue from the opening of “The Sleeping Beauty”; and the opening dance from “Coppelia” Act 3.
