A MAN was arrested while his brother escaped in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bonbon, Cebu City Monday afternoon.
The City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (CAIDSOTF) led by Senior Insp. Eunil Avergonzado identified the arrested suspect as Gilbert Daclan, while his brother Garry escaped after noticing the presence of policemen. Garry’s alleged live-in partner, Roxan Catanbacan, 19, however, was not as lucky as him.
The CAIDSOTF conducted the buy-bust operation a week after receiving reports about the involvement of the Daclan brothers in illegal drug activities.
According to CAIDSOTF, Gilbert handed over a pack of suspected shabu to police poseur buyer in exchange for P200 marked money. Gilbert then gave the money to Gary, who scampered away after noticing that they were surrounded by policemen.
Catanbacan, who was in the area, was also arrested after a pack of suspected shabu was recovered from her possession.
