MASBATE City’s up-and-coming boxer Jeo “Santino” Santisima looks to extend his winning streak when he spearheads the return of the Idol TV Series now known as Idol 2 of the ALA Promotions International slated on July 16 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
Santisima has won eight straight fights and is considered as the next big thing of the ALA Boxing Gym. His record stands at 10-2-0 (win-loss-draw) with nine knockouts.
Fellow ALA Boxing Gym pug Melvin “Gringo” Jerusalem (9-0-0, 7KOs) will be fighting in the co-main event.
ALA Promotions International officially re-launched the 2013 boxing series yesterday at the Saint Mark’s Hotel.
The relaunching was headed by ALA Promotions International officers Chelna Mae Locaylocay, Leilani Perpetua and Jeana Alvarez. They were joined by ALA Boxing Gym trainer and match maker Edito Villamor.
According to Locaylocay, they have three more Idol 2 fight cards lined up for the rest of the year.
After July 16, the next fight card will be on Oct. 1 and the other on Dec. 3 at the same venue.
Alvarez stated that the Idol series was stopped in 2013 because ALA Promotions focused on promoting boxing events abroad through the highly popular Pinoy Pride series.
They are now bringing back Idol to scout talents in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
