MUSLIM travelers visiting Cebu now have a luxurious premier resort destination to go to, with Halal food and 5 CrescentRating, the Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan in Cebu, Philippines. CrescentRating is the world’s leading authority on halal-friendly travel whose primary aim is to enable Muslim travelers to explore the world with peace of mind by identifying through pre-set standards, Halal and Halal-friendly services in tourism establishments around the world. The resort owned by Filinvest and under the management of Chroma Hospitality is the first tourism establishment to be given the Halal certification in Region 7 and the first in the region to be given the Crescent approval.
Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan is only the second tourism establishment to receive the CrescentRating in the country following Marriot Manila, this is the second part of the program of Department of Tourism to promote tourism in the country to over 1 billion Muslim tourists and travelers around the globe especially with more flights coming in from Middle East and other SouthEast Asian countries.
Last April, Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan received its Halal certification for its kitchen, the first tourism establishment in Region 7 and one of the 16 establishments that successfully completed the program under the DOT grant. Following the certification, Crescent Rating then came into the picture to assess the facilities of the resort and its compliance to the specific needs of the Muslim travelers.
“We’re very happy to receive the 5 CrescentRating which keeps us in the upper strata of the rating system which tops at 7 crescents and cements our commitment to provide more than satisfactory facilities and services to Muslim guests,” shared General Manager Kristofer Quadros. “This means we are able to provide more than the basic services and facilities including Halal food, Q’uran and Kiblat, prayer mats, prayer time guide and facilities like bidet, and female attendants among others.”
The resort serves Halal breakfast and dinner at Tempo and Halal menu can be served at Azure Beach Club and Saffron Café when Tempo is closed or at the convenience of the guest rooms through in-room dining. Banquets and special functions with Halal food can be arranged in advance. “We now see a number of Muslim-friendly setup requested by guests through our website, this is free of charge and can be requested in advance upon booking or can also be done upon check-in. With this service, we are able to better prepare and fit the rooms for our Muslim guests. And we are optimistic to see more of these as the promotion efforts kick in” adds Quadros.
Apart from providing Halal food and Muslim-friendly rooms Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan has also trained its staff for Halal and Halal-friendly services to better acquaint everyone on the requirements of Muslim travelers. /PR
