THE AYALA Center Cebu and Recreational Outdoor eXchange (R.O.X) will join hands in celebrating the country’s 118th Independence Day by staging the first ever “Heroes Bike Out” this June 19.

The event starts and ends at the Active Zone area of the Ayala Center Cebu.

Around a hundred participants are expected to join the bike out that aims to raise funds for the Hero Foundation, a non-profit organization which supports the families of the fallen and wounded soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). It also aims to showcase Ayala’s newly added bike racks that are located in selected areas in the mall.

The route of the bike out spans six kilometers along the Cebu Business Park.

The event was officially launched yesterday at the K-Pub BBQ at the Terraces of the Ayala Center Cebu. The launching was attended by Ayala Center Cebu’s Associate Marketing Manager Ian Virrey and Primer Group of Companies’ Marketing Supervisor for the Visayas and Mindanao region Leslee Morales. Joining them were Primer Group of Companies’ Area Operations head Cyrel Cañedo and Primer Group of Companies’ marketing associate Princess Artajo.

According to Virrey, this bike out will be one of the highlights of the month-long celebration of the country’s independence day on June 12. There are a series of other events lined up for the month.

“We want to have a campaign to challenge or inspire everyone to become a hero of their own,” said Virrey. “This is one way of giving honor to our fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our country.”

Although the bike out event is non-competitive, the participants will still get a chance to win exciting prizes courtesy of R.O.X.

Registration is going on at the concierge of the Ayala Center Cebu. Registration fee is P200 inclusive of the shirt, hydration and raffle tickets.
