A FATHER and his 36-year-old son suffered injuries after they both engaged in a bolo duel after getting drunk.
Glicerio Anticristo, 68, of Barangay Dagatan, Badian town, southwest Cebu, suffered wound on his left arm, while his son Jonas, single, sustained hack injuries on his back and right arm.
PO2 Jonathan Calabroso said the Anticristos were having a drinking session in a store adjacent to their house. After consuming a gallon of coconut wine or tuba, Glicerio went home to rest.
However, he was awakened by the quarrel between his wife and Jonathan, who allegedly got irked when his mother refused to give him money.
The bolo-wielding Jonathan went wild and threatened to kill them all, prompting Glicerio to rise and confront his son but was hacked instead.
Despite being injured, Glicerio also took a bolo and the two hacked each other until Jonathan was hit in his right arm and lost the bolo.
Glicerio hacked again his son on the back and attempted to finish him off but was prevented by his wife and other relatives.
Responding policemen led by PO2 Fortunato Purgatorio brought Jonathan to the hospital. Glicerio is now detained at Badian police station.
