MEXICAN slugger Cesar Juarez confidently predicted that he will beat Filipino WBO Inter-continental super bantamweight champion “Prince” Albert Pagara when they tangle on July 9 at the San Mateo Events Center, San Mateo, California, USA.
ALA Promotions International interviewed Juarez recently, excerpts of which were shared to Cebu sports scribes.
According to the interview, the 24-year old Juarez says that his main plan is to go out and give everything he’s got against the unbeaten 22-year old pride of Maasin City.
“The fight will end with me as the winner either by knockout or decision but I will win,” Juarez boasted.
Juarez (17-5, 13KOs) was the same boxer who fought five division world champion Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. in 12 bruising rounds in Puerto
Rico last year for the vacant WBO super bantamweight world title which the latter won.
“I feel very motivated and I hope Pagara (26-0,18KOs) will stand to exchange punches like Donaire did and turn this fight into a war,” Juarez added.
Despite losing his most recent fight against fellow Mexican Giovanni Delgado in Mexico, Juarez is very motivated to face Pagara of the famed ALA Boxing Gym. He says that being a Mexican will be his advantage over Pagara. He told ALA Promotions International that his Mexican warrior spirit is what makes him different from the Filipino boxer. He also added that Pagara is good, but the latter has not fought boxers of his caliber.
He said that one of Pagara’s weaknesses is that the latter tends to panic when an opponent gets aggressive and initiates the attack. “He doesn’t know what to do when he’s attacked and my style is to attack and attack, overwhelm my opponent by throwing a lot of punches,” Juarez said. He added that he is having an excellent training camp in Mexico for the July 9 fight.
Pagara on the other hand, is currently training at the famed Wildcard Boxing Gym in downtown Los Angeles along with his brother Jason Pagara and Boholano Mark Magsayo.
