AN auto mechanic was stabbed by his friend following a verbal dispute on Thursday night in Barangay Zapatera, Cebu City.
Gil Ermac Bataluna, 41, sustained two stab wounds at the right portion of his body.
Records from the Parian Police Station revealed that Bataluna and the suspect, Juan Cariso Manal, 55, were engaged in an argument. Bataluna, who was drunk, challenged Manal to a fistfight. But Manal feared a mauling from Bataluna who outweighed him, so he picked up a sharp object and hit Bataluna with it.
The wounded Bataluna was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment. According to Manal, it was Bataluna who fanned the conflict after losing in their argument. /UP Cebu Intern Patrick Byron G. Gattoc
