Cebuano netters make PSC-PHILTA semifinals

SIX CEBUANO netters put up noteworthy performances to clinch semifinal berths in the 2016 PSC-PHILTA Visayas Leg tennis tournament yesterday at Naga City Tennis Club in Naga City, Cebu.

Among those who shone was 16-year-old Marc Nicole Suson, who dominated Carlos Del Rosario, 6-0, 6-1, in the 16-Under Boys division to set up a semifinal showdown against fellow Cebuano Venz Alforque, who upended Paul Helarry Coderos, 6-0, 6-1.

Also putting on a show for Cebu were Cesar Salimbangon and Mitch Largo, who secured their place in the semifinals with victories over Ethan Quiño, 6-1, 6-1, and Vincent Cañete, 6-2, 6-2, respectively in the 10-Unisex division.

Norman Joseph Enriquez, meanwhile, scored a walkover victory against Feb Deja to move into the premier 18-Under Boys semis.

In girls play, Cebuana Kristin Salimbangon managed to eke out a 7-5, 6-3 triumph against Josette Nator to bag the first semifinals spot in the 18-Under Girls division.
