AFTER a meeting held in preparation for this year’s Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) tournaments, Cesafi Taekwondo tournament Manager Larry Elpa said there will be some new rules for the sport of Taekwondo.
He said officiating will be better this year as they have now an instant video replay rule.
“If violations such as pushing is committed, then we will check the video replay,” Elpa said in Cebuano.
Actions such as a hit in the face, which will eventually count according to the game’s rules, will also be checked in the replay before counting the point.
The Cesafi is now making the necessary preparation for their 16th season, which opens on Aug. 6.
Elpa said a solidarity meeting is scheduled on July 9. He said that important matters such as the ground rules and eligibility rules will be the agenda of their meeting.
Also, Elpa revealed that with the advancement of the K+12 curriculum, the age limit of the players playing in the high school division will be at least 18 years old.
