Labangon councilman told: Show trip tickets

LABANGON Barangay Councilman Rodolfo Tabasa is given two days to prove that he used his city-issued Toyota Hilux for emergency purposes only.

“The GSO (General Services Office) found out that there were no trip tickets so he (Tabasa) should submit that, kung naa man gani siyay ma-submit (that is if he has something to submit),” said Cebu City Legal Officer Eleodor Diaz IV, who was recently appointed by Cebu City Acting Mayor Margarita Osmeña, during a press briefing yesterday.

Osmeña was also present during the briefing.

Diaz said they already sent a letter to Tabasa asking him to present the trip tickets and itemized list of circumstances when he used the vehicle for emergency response.

When asked what action they would take against Tabasa if he could comply with what they asked, Diaz said that they will see if he can comply or not first, then they will assess and see what action they can take.

Tabasa has already returned the city-issued Toyota Hilux, two days after he was detained last week by two GSO personnel.

When asked to comment, Tabasa in a phone interview told Cebu Daily News that he would only give his side on the issue on Monday.
