Regidor leads 1985 Legends to rousing start in USC alumni hoops

THE DEFENDING champions 1985 Legends kicked off their title defense on a victorious note as they routed the 1992 Little Rascals, 85-52, in Division 1 action of the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference President’s Cup last weekend at the USC North Campus gym along Mango Avenue.

Reigning league MVP and former pro Lou Regidor was his usual spectacular self as he scored 35 markers to lead the team in scoring. Bing Pua added 17 points while Jone Sepe added 14.

In other matches, the 1980 Chargers took care of the 1984 Knights, 62-51, behind the 35 points of import Lorenzo Balankig, while Edmund Odulio scored 22 while Dindo Sausa chimed in 16 to put the 1988 Barakos over the 1987 Bros, 75-64. The 1994 Bulldogs were also victorious over the 1986 Mighty Geeks, 91-74, behind the 21 markers of Sigmund Cabrera.

In Division 2, the 2002 Lions routed the 2000 Millennium, 73-52, while the 1998 Sipat edged out the 1997 Ronins, 65-63. The 1996 Chubbies also beat the 1995 Pirates, 46-38, while the 1999rs scored a 73-58 win over the 2003 Stallions.
